Before purchasing a subscription from a dating service, read the amount due now, the billing period and what happens when that period ends. Save the confirmation email and identify the company processing payment. An app downloaded from a store may offer more than one payment route, so the receipt is more useful than the icon on your phone. Apple explains how to find and cancel subscriptions billed through an Apple Account. Google Play provides its own subscription controls and explicitly warns that uninstalling an app does not cancel the associated subscription.

Keep evidence that renewal has been stopped

Use the route connected to the original purchase: the relevant app store account or the dating operator's billing settings. Follow the cancellation process through to confirmation and record the date access or renewal ends. If the subscription is missing, check whether another account or payment provider appears on the receipt. Cancellation, account deletion and a refund request are separate matters, so read the terms for each rather than assuming one completes the others. For an unexpected charge, contact the billing provider through its official support channel with the transaction reference. Never send a full payment-card number, password or login code in a public review or support message.
